Title :
Bandwidth allocation in ATM networks that guarantee multiple QOS requirements
Abstract :
Because almost all existing schemes for connection admission control (CAC) in asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) networks ignore variances of quality of service (QOS) being received by individual connection types multiplexed on the same link, as well as differences in QOS required by those connection types, they are in danger of failing to satisfy some individual QOS requirements. A CAC scheme is proposed, based on allocating to each individual connection virtual bandwidths that are predetermined so that QOS for each connection type will be kept within its allowable limit
