Abstract :
The dynamic characteristics of an electromagnet for a circuit breaker taking into account the eddy currents are quantitatively clarified using the three-dimensional finite element method (3-D FEM). In this paper, it is numerically clarified that it is useful to use divided cores and yokes of the electromagnet in order to reduce the eddy current loss.
