Abstract
A full bridge converter using IGBTs at higher than normal frequencies is described. This approach is found to be cost effective for automotive applications since it provides a reasonable volume at a lower cost than other alternatives. Experimental results are included for a 1.5 kW converter operating at 40 kHz
