Abstract
A sliding window concept for the block least mean square (BLMS) updating algorithm is proposed. In the presence of quantization and finite wordlength environment, the BLMS has been shown to be an efficient tool to tackle the undesirable effect, but with a reduction in the tracking rate. When modifying the rectangular window used in the block weighting to a triangular one, it is demonstrated that the use of different window shapes would not necessarily degrade the performance of the system and that it has slightly more computation requirements. In some cases, the use of the triangular window would improve the performance of the system
