Abstract :
The paper presents a new quasi-phase-match coplanar waveguide (CPW) structure used for broadening the optical response of travelling-wave electro-optic Z-cut LiNbO3 modulators. A nonperiodic spatial code of CPW with phase-reversal electrode sections was obtained and optimized by a genetic algorithm to provide a distortionless temporal response of the modulator in the picosecond range.
