Abstract :
The scattering mechanism of the magnetic dipolar mode TE/sub 10/ incident in an abruptly ended rod dielectric waveguide is analysed by means of a novel integral formulation. The accurate numerical solution is obtained from an iterative procedure based on successive scattering approximation. In the second part of this paper, we applied the previous results to determine the characteristics of circular dielectric resonators.
