Abstract :
In this paper, a low-profile wideband antenna with minimum dependence on its environment is presented. By modifying the antenna feeding structure, the antenna features more than 10% bandwidth while being less than lambda/15 in vertical height. The antenna features low cross-pol levels and excellent radiation efficiency. The antenna is then embedded in a metallic structure and the performance of the antenna is measured to remain highly consistent. Ultrasonic consolidation process technique is used to fabricate the antenna structure.
