Abstract :
This paper presents field experience with a cluster of ASDs (adjustable speed drives) that affected the performance of a MD (metal detector). The case history is detailed and explanations are given for the basic phenomena that govern the transfer of energy from the ASD circuit to the MD. Mitigation methods are briefly presented.
