Abstract :
A great number of problems in industry may be solved by integrating the computer in all manufacturing processes which is a main goal of CIM (computer integrated manufacturing). The basic elements that comprise the lower level of CIM are presented, and an integrated design and the subsequent implementation of an industrial controller, an industrial local area network and the system management comprising of network management and user tools which allow elaboration of the network configuration are described
