Abstract :
The increased interest of health hazards of electromagnetic fields (EMF) was the motive to inspect telecommunication technical staff´s working environment. After reviewing the biological effects of human EM field exposures, the safety limits from three reference standards are presented. The problem of measuring the electric and the magnetic leakage components in the vicinity of the high-frequency rectifiers mounted in a telecommunications rack is discussed. The presented experimental results were the basis for the personnel health response estimation by checking the measured irradiation levels relations to the derived safety limits as well as the basic restrictions. The technical staff chronical low-level exposure may implicate responses in reference to substantial amount of experimental evidence
