Abstract :
A 150×150 pixel, single output, full-frame image sensor has been designed to fit a 5 mm package outline and to accommodate a wide range of frame rates. The 50 pA/cm2 dark current architecture allows 0.02-400 Hz frame rates. The HCCD dump architecture provides sub-frame rates exceeding 4000 Hz. Preliminary test results are presented. This sensor is well suited for in-situ medical applications where poor scene contrast is limited by photon shot noise. The 200,000 e - signal capacity provides 53 dB S/N for such applications
