Abstract
The worm is still one of the most serious threat to the Network security. The logical worm propagation model could characterize the propagation of Internet worms more exactly, and could be more helpful to carry out the worm protection, detection and suppression technology research. In the initial phase of this paper, a heterogeneous network oriented worm propagation model namely Enhanced-AAWP was derived after the traditional worm propagation model based on continuous time and discrete time had be introduced separately. In different allocation pattern of the heterogeneous network environments, simulate the propagation of the worms which employed local preference scanning. As the simulation results show, the allocation pattern of the number of vulnerable hosts is an important influencing factor during the course of worm propagations in heterogeneous network environments.
