Abstract :
In this paper, the control of the relative phase between elements of a coherent photonic crystal VCSEL array using independent current injection, which leads to electronic beam steering, is demonstrated. For controlled beam steering, we electrically isolate the two PhC defects by etching a thin trench by FIBE (focused ion beam etching). It is concluded that more than 3deg angular shift can be controllably obtained, demonstrating electronic beam-steering
