Abstract
Although many papers about field-oriented algorithms can be found in the literature, just one work that discusses the iron losses influence on a field-oriented controller (FOC) (see T. Mizumo et. al., Proc. IPEC, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, 1993) have been found by the authors. In this paper a new proposal to explain the same subject is presented. Two induction machine (IM) mathematical dynamic models are presented. Then, using these models the error on the flux and torque estimation that occur in a conventional FOC algorithm, when the iron losses are not considered, is analyzed and quantified. Finally, an algorithm to minimize this error is proposed
