Abstract :
RFID is no longer a new technology and a framework concerning standards has been established. However, its widespread use is still in an early stage and it is therefore necessary to provide guidance on this technology. The development of guidelines is not an easy task as numerous information demands have to be met. As RFID implementation is currently progressing at a moderate speed, within the European research project CE RFID we analysed existing RFID implementation guidelines to find out if the existing information is useful for companies aiming at implementing RFID. The results showed that most of the existing guidelines are too broad in focus to be useful.
