Abstract :
In this paper, we propose an efficient deflection routing method to improve the burst loss performance in Optical Burst Switching (OBS) networks. We show that the proposed scheme gives significant reduction in burst loss rate as compared to conventional technique for optical networks. To improve the burst loss performance, the proposed variable size burst routing algorithm (VSBR), dynamically determines the congestion level and adjusts the burst sending rate, according to the traffic condition in a network.
