Abstract :
In hard disk drives used load/unload technology, main issues are no slider-disk contact and faster unloading process. They are important factors to determine the unloading performance. No slider-disk contact prevents physical damage of slider and disk, and the faster unloading process results higher capacity by minimizing unrecordable region. In this paper, dynamic and unload simulations to determine the optimal disk bumper are performed. Through these simulations, we confirm to improve unloading performance and verify propriety of disk bumper system used in experiments.
