  • Abstract
Social network like Twitter is a communication channel that can enable users to broadcast their information, activities, and opinion through brief text updates. Suicide is a serious mental health problem that demands our attention, and to control and prevent it is not an easy task. With the high rate of people dying from suicide, the speed of information disseminated through Twitter should be an advantage to make a good use of it in order to detect the sign of suicide in a faster way. Suicide detection on Twitter is a system that can detect any suicide-related words from Twitter. Besides, this system is aimed to detect suicide in a timely manner by listening to incoming tweets. This system can be used by Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or psychologist to monitor the suicidal person that has a past history related to suicide attempts. This system is developed in order to help and prevent people from committing suicide.
