Abstract :
An easy cheap technique to measure concrete properties such as compressive strength and workability has been researched. The technique is able to predict the concrete compressive strength during its liquid stage. This technique is based on measuring the electromagnetic properties of liquid concrete. By measuring the dielectric constant of the concrete, it´s possible to predict the water content and based on this, the water to cement ratio of the concrete and the workability as well. The technique requires simple capacitance measurements for concrete mixtures. Experiment showed the pattern that the capacitance measurements follow with changing concrete properties.”
