Abstract
In wireless optical communication systems it is usually desirable to have the low transmitter power for a given error rate. In this paper, we propose a compact signal constellation that has several advantages. We show that it is feasible to derive its average symbol error rate in an exact closed-form. Then we show that the peak-to-mean-electrical-energy-ratio of the proposed constellation is better than a conventional one.
