Abstract
Direct torque control (DTC) can be used for AC machine drives. In a synchronous machine the initial flux depends on the rotor position. Thus in a sensorless DTC synchronous machine drive system the initial flux should be known. To solve the problem of initial flux, a quasi-integrator is proposed. Using this filter, the synchronous machine can be started up with a nonprecise known initial flux. The final estimated flux is very close to the machine flux
