Abstract :
This paper presents a photonic crystal based compact demultiplexer design that can be implemented using III-V and II-VI material system for 1.55 mum fiber optical applications for dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems. The design using alternate-defect coupled cavity waveguide (AD-CCW) channels is compared with traditional arrayed waveguides (AWGs) as well as photonic crystal demultiplexers using defect and coupled-cavity waveguides.
