Abstract
A novel technique is proposed for range alignment in inverse synthetic aperture radar(ISAR) imaging. The correlation of complex High Range Resolution Profiles of two echoes is calculated as the quality measure of range alignment, and its applicability is analyzed. The shifts introduced by the echoes are obtained in the frequency domain without interpolation, so the computation burden is greatly reduced. In addition, the shift is implemented by introducing a phase ramp in the frequency domain, which removes the integer steps in the time domain.
