Abstract :
The paper analyses the behaviour of water as a potential material for an antenna to be used as an EMI sensor. The receiving mode characteristics - antenna factor and input impedances are analysed for different composition of solutes and different conductivities in it The response variations to varying fluid lengths are also measured and compared with the simulated results. Temperature variations of the results are also discussed. The measured results are highly correlated with the ones simulated using CST MICROWAVE STWMO®. Finally a transceiver with fluid antennas is designed and analysed. The potential applications of such sensors are discussed later.
