Abstract :
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a possible candidate for high-rate data transmission in wireline and wireless communications. However, OFDM systems are very sensitive to frequency and timing offsets. The sensitivity causes the system performance to degrade drastically. Therefore, in this paper we propose a new estimation scheme for frequency and timing offsets in OFDM systems. This estimation is based on an ambiguity function. Simulation results show that frequency and timing offsets are estimated very accurately using our presented method
