Abstract :
This paper considers the fault tolerance aspects in the design of structural vibration systems; the final solution is capable of detecting faults, isolating them and taking the necessary remedial action to maintain system performance under certain actuator failure conditions. Neural networks (NNs) and genetic algorithmic (GA) techniques are utilised for achieving these reliability features in a flexible cantilever beam control system.
