Abstract :
This paper presents a new technique for suppressing multi-spurious passbands of microstrip Wilkinson power divider by means of multi-band defected ground structure (DGS). This new defected ground structure is a multi-band-reject resonator which is realized by etching U-shape slots in the ground plane. The resonant frequencies of the multi-band DGS resonator can be controlled separately. Simulated and measured results show that for this power divider, a rejection level exceeding 20dB is obtained in the first three undesired passbands, while the desired passband is maintained unaltered.
