Abstract
A new approach combing beamforming and subspace filter is proposed for noise reduction under multi-microphone condition. The directional characteristic of beamforming provides nulls against the noise signal and directional lobe to the target signal. The output of beamforming acts as input signal of subspace filter. Compared with other algorithms based on signal subspace approach (SSA), the presented method not only further reduces background noise but also decreases computation cost. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms conventional SSA algorithms in noise reduction, while its computation complexity is also lower.
