Hybrid face detection with HSV Color method and HAAR classifier

Face detection use in many applications such as human computer interface, face recognition and face tracking. In this paper we propose a hybrid face detection that could detect faces in color images with different lights and backgrounds. Our method, first detect skin regions with HSV method over an entire image and generate candidates for HAAR classifier to detect face regions. By regionalizing the skin regions, searching area have been reduced and the accuracy of face detection have been increased.
