Abstract :
The network state beacon (NSB) exchange rate is a critical parameter in monitoring the dynamic state of any self-configuring ad hoc sensor network. It determines the time and nature of any proactive reconfiguration activity that is necessary to counteract any degradation in network performance. It is imperative to adapt this rate to the variation in load profile in order to attempt to keep the network operating optimally and conform to its various quality-of-service requirements. This paper proposes an adaptive beacon rate control model (ABRC).The algorithm of this model can minimize the system error adaptively compared with the HUSEC model or other traditional algorithms. Both analysis and simulations have been proposed to show that this algorithm is effective to improve the network performance by decreasing the packet losses and increasing the network connectivity.
