Abstract :
A bionic mode simulating olfactory neural system, KIII model, and its application to face recognition are researched in this paper. The face image features are extracted based on singular value decomposition. Firstly, the whole face image is divided into sub-images with equal size. Then, the maximal singular value is selected as the sub-image feature after the sub-image is decomposed by singular value decomposition. Finally, all sub-image features are combined to construct the whole face image feature vector. According to ORL face database, experimental results show that KIII model has good pattern recognition capability.
