Abstract
A new control system for bogie truck assembly manufacturing process has been developed. The characteristics of the system are described. The system carries out two control functions in the manufacturing process line which three types of bogie truck assembly frames are produced: 1) the best pathway which is indicated to the automatic guided vehicle (AGV), and 2) the starting point indication to both the gas cutting robot and the arc welding robot. The system brings about an actual and practical use for the pre-programmed robot teaching system: 1) the function which automatically sets up the robot position, the angle of weld torch and the weld condition; and 2) the function which transmits the robot´s various program functions through a local area network adjusting to the arrival time of the frame carried by the AGV. This system has achieved a reduction of labor, robot teaching time and an improvement in production efficiency
