Abstract :
Active control of a horizontal axis wind turbine via pitching of the rotor blades is considered in this paper. It presents a robust control design for a variable-speed adjustable-pitch wind energy conversion system with an uncertain model. A Hinfin controller is designed to drive the turbine speed to extract invariable power from the wind and to allow pitch adjustment to power regulation. It is the purpose of this paper to test and validate a Hinfin controller for a wind turbine by simulation
