Abstract :
This paper presents a novel method for multispectral aerial image registration. Different bands of multispectral images taken by non-coaxial multispectral camera system usually cannot overlap accurately due to the non-coaxiality of the camera system and assembly error. Therefore, image registration is required. There are three problems in image registration of different bands. First, similarity between different bands is rather poor, which makes control points selection difficult. Second, polynomial transform model is lack of imaging geometry foundation. Third, there is translation between different bands, which also causes difficulties for control points selection. The method presented in this paper solves these three problems preliminarily. Finally, we validated this novel method using real multispectral images.
