Abstract
The search for major security and for a competitive differential in industrial field has made the quality of software use an imperative need. The lack of resources evaluation of usability make software for industrial automation limited to prospect of immediate solutions, without any criterion about software usability, without any criterion on usability of the software be conducted, and the main difficulties their particularities and general nature of usability of the solutions available. Considering the degree of complexity and importance of this type of software for industry, it is proposed a methodology for evaluate the usability of software for industrial automation using artificial neural networks and the results of its application to the industrial automation software used by ELETROBRAS.
