Abstract
With emerging Web standards and new methodologies constantly coming to light there is a growing gap between the theoretical recommendations and the actual implementations. In practice, to update a core implementation for a given component one would have to wait for gradual global updates or simply work in an isolated network with the updates. For instance, implementing a QoS model using an agent proxy instead of a basic UDDI would be a straight forward theoretical process but not something that can be easily implemented in practice without a major overhaul of the network components. Consequently, testing such new technologies as they are being developed would fall behind and contribute to the growth of the gap between new and actual technologies. This paper introduces a general purpose semantic Web simulator prototype.
