Abstract :
The paper deals with a study and a laboratory experiment conducted for testing a newly developed full digital field oriented control for a salient-pole synchronous motor with independent field excitation. A dynamic model of the system to be controlled has been studied and implemented in a real time environment in order to reliably debug and test the control algorithms realised, by simulating the same working conditions and the realistic time constraints. The final result was an easily configurable multiprocessor system architecture working on VME-bus, in which one CPU runs the software to be tested and another one acts as the dynamic model of the system
