Abstract :
The implementation of a high-speed baseband data modem using the Texas Instruments TMS320C25 digital signal processor is described. The modem operates on public and leased two-wire circuits, at different bit rates, from 1200 b/s to 19200 b/s in full-duplex mode. Algorithms for adaptive echo cancelling, equalization, automatic level control, and clock recovery are described. Several modifications which enhance the modem´s overall performance are proposed
