Abstract :
LDPC (low-density parity check) code, which is a class of error correcting code, is attracting attention due to the considerable potential for error correction that approaches the theoretical limits. However, there are some problems with LDPC code because it requires a great deal of time and effort involving trial and error in order to generate LDPC codes. Accordingly, we have proposed a design system for LDPC codes that uses a general-purpose cluster system and a hardware accelerator. However, it is rather difficult to utilize use the design system in real-world applications because of problems in widely implementing the cluster system and the hardware accelerator. Thus, the present paper proposes a Web-based application of the LDPC codes design system in order to overcome these problems. The proposal application has three advantages (no need for development of a commercial system, accessibility to the system all over the world with a general Web-browser, and streamlining and sharing with a database implementation of the system), and effectively solves the problems of applying LDPC codes for practical use.
