Abstract :
In 2001, Chien et al. proposed a modified verifier-free password authentication scheme without incurring much computational overhead to improve the security of Wu´s scheme. Herein, we first review Chien et al.´s scheme, and then show its weakness. Furthermore, we also propose a simple improved password authentication scheme based on the geometric property of the Euclidean plane
