Abstract
The transition to the new model of learning requires changes in culture of all persons involved. The new goal is not the limited amount of acquired information any more, but the lifelong journey of acquiring new knowledge. The way to the new model of learning leads through the gradual overcoming of partial conflicts between the old model and each new element, which is brought to learning by ICT. The paper is based on actual experience obtained during many years of implementation of new methods and forms of university education at the VSB-Technical University in Ostrava, and brings suggestions how institution can make this way more effective
