  • Abstract
In this paper, a lifetime prediction approach of the ring laser gyroscope (RLG) without the lifetime test is proposed based on the failure mechanism of RLG for saving time of the lifetime tests and its costs. The approach has a quite attractive idea that is to use both the gas chromatography technology and the adaptive aperiodic stochastic resonance algorithm to detect the content of weak impurity gas in the cavity of RLG so that we can predict the lifetime of RLG through established function between the content of weak impurity gas and the drop ratio of power output of RLG. To convey idea about the approach without unnecessary complications, we will take He-Ne ring laser gyroscope for example to illustrate the effective of the approach in both theoretical analysis and numerical simulation.
