Abstract :
As a case study of a BiFET prototype charge preamplifier to be used for particle detection in the Superconducting Supercollider which has been tested up to a total gamma dose of 1.44 Mrad and a neutron fluence of 2×1013 n/cm2 is presented. Some design considerations and measurement results are discussed. The presented BiFET prototype combines low noise, low power consumption, and high speed. This prototype can be expected to perform well in the portions of the Superconducting Supercollider where the total doses do not exceed 200 to 300 krad per year
