Abstract :
S-boxes are the only nonlinear component in most cryptographic algorithms, which determine the security strength of the whole symmetric ciphers algorithm. In this work we utilize a distributed approach for optimizing S-boxes. This distributed approach is mainly inspired by evolution theory and membrane computing. Under this method, an effective algorithm is provided and a number of S-boxes with excellent cryptographic properties can be obtained.
