  • Abstract
A model has been proposed for including the effects of saturation in the simulation of the three phase induction motor with delta-connected stator windings. The model combines the well known model for the machine in a rotating reference frame attached to the air-gap flux with magnetic harmonic functions, obtained experimentally, that describe the nonlinear behavior. The model also takes into account the spatial third harmonic flux distribution which arises from saturation in the main flux path. The proposed model has been validated by comparison with measurements
