Abstract :
The author describes a full-color active matrix LCD (liquid-crystal display) with a viewing area of 8 in×8 in, and the principles of the PIN diode switch on which the design of the display is based. It has a combination of characteristics required in the cockpit environment including wide viewing angle, high contrast in bright sunlight, and a wide operating temperature range
