Abstract :
An improved hybrid addressing technique (IHAT) is proposed that is a generalized form of the Alt and Plesko technique (APT). The number of selected rows at a given instant of time is a variable, as compared to one in the case of the APT. Several addressing techniques can also be treated as special cases of IHAT. It is shown that good reduction in the supply voltage requirement (especially when N is large) and good brightness uniformity of pixels can be achieved by using the IHAT for matrix displays with RMS response.<>
