Abstract :
Since more than 15 years, ESA SAR data are worldly exploited for flood management and monitoring. The aim of this paper is to present improvement of ENVISAT sensors as well as limitations. Some milestones from Charter and Flood DRAGON actions are highlighted. Emphasis is given to the exploitation of medium resolution data, MERIS and ASAR WSM, which insure thematic accuracy, maximise coverage and revisit large flood-prone areas.
