Abstract :
Weapon accuracy is characterized by a CEP circular error of probability), the radius of a circle containing 50% of a set of impact points. It is argued that the existing technology for estimating CEPs constitutes a multitude of formulas, made to handle the spectrum of possible manifestations of the bivariate normal impact distribution. Confidence intervals for CEP estimates have existed only for a few specialized cases. To circumvent these difficulties, the author has developed an accurate, simple, yet general method for calculating CEP confidence intervals. In addition, the complexity of CEP´s estimation is reduced to a single simple formula, which has improved accuracy and confidence. The author has developed a rapid series formula which integrates the bivariate normal distribution exactly
