Abstract :
There is a widespread acceptance that every technique used in future wireless systems must be reconfigurable and/or adaptive. Due to the large variation in channel conditions, traffic levels, mobility and services demanded by the users, the procedures must be dynamic and adaptable. Dynamic multiple class admission strategies are most promising in handling the large variations and diversity in wireless services and their operating conditions. In this work a simple fully adaptive and distributed multiple class call admission control scheme is proposed. Each class is assumed to demand a different number of resource units. The proposed schemes are shown to provide very good performance in terms of overall utilization while still satisfying quality of service constraints.
